Tall Ships of the 20th Century



This beautiful set depicts of six of the tall ships of the 20th Century: The ships included are the Russian four masted barque Kruzenshtern built in 1926, the Preussen, a German steel-hulled five masted ship-rigged windjammer built in 1902, the Christian Radich, a Norwegian full rigged ship launched in 1937, the Sedov, a Russian 4-masted steel barque that for almost 80 years was the largest traditional sailing ship in operation, the Thomas W. Lawson an American seven-masted, steel-hulled schooner built in 1902 and the French tall ship France II, a five-mast vessel originally constructed at the Gironde yards in Bordeaux in 1911. Each coin has been struck from 141.4 grams of .999 fine silver and has a 65 millimeter diameter. Total mintage has been limited to 500 sets worldwide. The coins come in a beautiful wood presentaion case as shown in the images along with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Honorable Sir Tereoai Maoate K.B.E., Deputy Prime Minister , Minister of Finance of the Cook Islands.
