Silver Coin Australian Lunar 2012 – Dragon



Reverse: The reverse of 2012 coin depicts a traditional Chinese dragon, a long, scaled, serpentine creature with four legs, and a ‘pearl of wisdom’. The Chinese character for ‘dragon’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dragon’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Obverse: Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, each coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse. The obverse also includes the inscriptions of “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “2012,” “999 SILVER” and the face value and weight of each strike.
